This morning we drove up from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, swinging wide
North and West from the direct route home to get two bonus high points in - Indiana and Ohio.
The directions we had were good but we still initially drove right by the high point which was
just a dirt road driveway on the west side of a farm road besides the clump of woods with the
marker. It helped that there were two cars already there with three people visiting the high
point so we knew that must be it. Having people there also allowed us to get our picture taken
together and after they left, once again we took turns being the actual highest person on land
in the state. This is number 30 and it now feels like we are almost in the home stretch.

There was a picnic table but no sign for the high point in the clearing as shown in one of the
guidebooks, and also no fence stile to cross to get there. Looking around, it was not even
apparent that this spot was higher than some of the gently rolling hills of the cornfields around
us.
#30 for Bob and Kevin!
Kevin feeling the exhilaration
of the climb and of the bag of
chips he earned.
